Gone is the Buffet style breakfast at Tradewinds Restaurant at Bahama Bay Resort and in its place is a brand new A La Carte menu.

I understand it was successfully wheeled out last weekend. Have a look at the specimen menu at Breakfast A La Carte opposite.

Tradewinds has undergone a lot of changes of late and all of them have in my opinion improved both the restaurant and the experience you will get when you visit. All this is on site so you never have far to go and don't have to think about drinking and driving!! The prices are very reasonable and the outlook is great so give it a try it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week but check for times.

Not all the apartments have been released for rent but some have. The Buildings have elevators and the Resort has also incorporated a swimming pool in the area for your enjoyment. By the way that now makes five pools altogether.

Tradewinds Restaurant at Bahama Bay Resort has long had an outside but undercover eating area. This has been redesigned and have a look at the pictures in the photo album (Outside Dining At Tradewinds Restaurant) to get an idea of how it now looks. It will be known as Vistas Tradewinds Patio.

I understand that it will be mainly for adults with a child age limit of 10 years and it has a great outlook towards the pool area and beyond the white sand beach and beyond that beautiful Lake Davenport. I am told it will initially be open only for dinner.

When you are next at Bahama Bay please check it out and I hope you find it an enjoyable experience.

Just a bit of news to let you know that Bahama Bay Resort has grown by five more buildings and whilst not all the apartments are available at present I expect they soon will be.

This has meant that there is now a fully operational additional heated swimming pool in operation making a total of five pools now on the Resort. This one has a spa as well.

There are now 530 units on the Resort and those in the five new buildings above have elevator access as well as stairs.

Some of these buildings have a good view over a brand new pond as well and look towards Lake Davenport.

I have been advised that Friday August 1st is now getting near to being fully booked. Still availability around this date though so make your reservation at Bahama Bay Resort as soon as possible.

I have just been advised that Bahama Bay Resort is fully booked for the night of Saturday July 26th.

That's great news for the Resort because it goes to show how popular it is. Be assured though that there is still availability before and after so get your reservations in now to avoid possible disappointment.

With the weather we have been having the Resort is looking great and the ponds and landscaping have been freshened up nicely.

I have had an update of what's new at Tradewinds Restaurant from John Begin the General Manager and Director of Food and Beverage at Bahama Bay Resort.

A new WiFi service has been installed and services the area around the restaurant and the pool. The good news is it is entirely free of charge. This is in addition to the service at the Club House.

A new Chef has been appointed and there is already good feedback from guests as to quality of menu selections.

Karaoke is offered from 7.00 p.m. until 10.00 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The 10.00 p.m. deadline is strictly enforced to ensure guests who wish to retire are not inconvenienced.

Live entertainment is also being introduced both at Tradewinds and at The Club House and only last Saturday night C.W.Post entertained guests with his guitar and songs in the Caribbean style. Hopefully more of his shows will be added during the coming Summer Season at Bahama Bay Resort. I am told his last performance was well received.

So plenty going on at Tradewinds all of which will add to your enjoyment and to what is being offered at Bahama Bay Resort.

 

The LPGA Tour comes to Reunion again this year for The Ginn Open from 14th April to 20th April.

The course is about twenty minutes from Bahama Bay Resort so it is an ideal base from which to travel and to recover after a day on the course watching your favourite women golfers.

As I did last year I shall be making reports here as to how the tournament is progressing together with the Leader Board.

I have been advised that Bahama Bay Resort is fully booked for the period March 21st 2008 to March 26th 2008. This is the Easter Holiday but there is still availability around those dates.

Florence Villa Grove Road has now been extended and the new part of the road is now open. This is great news as you do not now have to use US 27 to get to the 192 and Disney World. Effectively this new route cuts the corner and the time and distance traveling.

Take a left out of Bahama Bay Resort on to Florence Villa Grove Road and continue to the next crossroads. Take  a left here also on to Westside Boulevard and just keep going straight until you get to the junction with the 192 where you take a right. Continue on the 192 to the traffic lights for SR 429 North and take a left on to the 429. Go through the toll, $1 for two axles, and the next turn on your right takes you in to Disney World.

I drove this route today and it took 10 minutes and was almost exactly seven miles. There were no hold ups and it was an easy drive.

A number of buildings have facilities incorporated in the apartments designed to aid the disabled and elderly visitor.

Some apartments in Buildings 14, 18, 25 and 32 all have an open/walk in shower and some apartments in Buildings 7, 14, 18, and 25 have bath rails. Apartments can be arranged on the ground floor without problem.

Carts can be arranged with an outside company and they will be delivered to and collected from the Resort. Costs are approximately $250.00 per week.

All pavements have ramps for wheelchairs etc. The Resort is on a gentle incline but the top is flat as is the bottom and the gradient is not at all steep. There are pavements all around the Resort so there should be no problem with traffic etc.

Following the work on the Front Desk at the Club House it is now the turn of some of the buildings to have a lick of paint.

Buildings One through Nine are having the white paintwork on them freshened up. This has not caused any inconvenience to guests despite the use of a cherry picker for the highest points.

The work is well advanced and I would expect it to be completed by the end of the month or very early 2008.

This confirms the commitment of the HOA to the Resort and their efforts to keep the appearance at a high standard for the overall benefit of the guests.

We have been advised that the Resort is fully booked for the nights of December 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th, 2007.
