View Article  Lorena Ochoa Wins Ginn Open.

A great win for Lorena Ochoa at -19 beating Yani Tseng by three strokes and third were Suzann Petersen and Teresa Lu on -11.

The day started with a rain delay of about 40 minutes and this rain altered the greens a lot making them more receptive and a little slower.

This is Lorena's fourth win in a row and she joins four others who accomplished this. It also brings to an end her run of close finishes in this event where she has been second on a number of occasions.

Laura Davis (UK) finished tied 44th.

Well done Lorena.

This morning, Sunday,  the morning of the final round we have had some rain as a weakening cold front goes through the area. I expect this will have freshened up the course and it could make the greens more receptive.

At present after four holes of the final round Lorena Ochoa is tied with Yani Tseng at -17 and Teresa Lu is third at -11. It looks as though these three will fight out the final round. Could it go to extra holes???

Laura Davis (UK) is tied 49th at even par. She has started out -1 starting from the eighteenth.

For next years tournament book your apartment at Bahama Bay Resort. If you can't wait wait that long book it now and enjoy the late spring and early summer weather.

Another great day with blue skies and the occasional cloud. Still a little wind about but it appears the course is playing well.

Yani Tseng is still leading at -13 after four holes in the third round. There is a four way tie for second between Lorena Ochoa, Teresa Lu, Suzann Petersen and Minea Blomqvist all of which are on -10 after four or five holes today.

Unfortunately it seems that Laura Davis (UK) has dropped away deep in to the following pack. This is a shame as she did so well last year for much of the tournament

Bahama Bay Resort is the place to stay for The Ginn Open. It is only a short drive away from the course and the place to relax after a hard day watching the golf.

The weather yesterday was great for golf and there appeared to be a good turnout of spectators also. The car parks were pretty full as I drove past down I.4.

Yani Tseng is currently leading the field at ten under par after carding a four under par round yesterday and following that up with a six under par score going through nine holes today. Lorena Ochoa is four under after yesterday and eight holes today and Laura Davis from the UK is yet to start her second round but is standing on two under so far.

Today is looking like another great day with plenty of sunshine with just a few clouds . There is a little breeze but at present it is pretty calm. There could be some good scores !! The rest of the weekend is looking pretty good also with just a small chance of a shower maybe on the final day.

Look out for further reports as The Ginn Open continues.
