If you leave Bahama Bay Resort and take a right on to US 27 at the end of Florence Villa Grove Road and keep going you will eventually see a sign on indicating Lake Louisa State Park on your left.
Pay a small park fee and you begin to enter the real Florida. It has been described as Clermont's best kept secret. The park consists of about 4500 acres and there are six lakes, two streams, ten natural communities and about one hundred acres of Lake shoreline.
With that amount of space there is plenty to keep you occupied for an afternoon or for even longer stays. Hiking, Biking and Horse Riding are the activities that immediately come to mind. But with six lakes and two streams there should be enough there also for the most avid fisherman.
The lakes also provide an opportunity for canoeing and kayaking but you will have to bring your own.
A campground is available and all sites have electric and water. The sites and bathhouses are ADA accessible.
This is also an ideal spot for a picnic. With picnic tables and grills provided at Lake Louisa itself.
The State Park is well worth a visit so give it a go and enjoy.
